PRESENT : Council President Franczyk and Council Members Bonifacio, Davis, Golombek, Kearns, LoCurto, Russell, Smith -8 ABSENT: - Fontana -1. NO. 1 CALL FOR SPECIAL SESSION Mr. Gerald A. Chwalinski City Clerk 1308 City Hall Buffalo, New York Dear Mr. Chwalinski: Pursuant to Section 3.9 of the Charter of the City of Buffalo, upon the written request of Five Councilmembers, dated January 24, 2007 presented to you herewith, I hereby call a Special Meeting of the Common Council, to be held in the Council Chambers, City Hall, Buffalo, New York, on Friday, January 26, 2007 at 10:30 A.M. for the following purposes: To receive and take appropriate action on All Items Relating To 1. Local 282 Prof. Firefighters Assn. Contract Yours very truly, David A. Franczyk President of the Council Mr. David A. Franczyk President, Common Council Dear Sir: We, the undersigned members of the Common Council, hereby request that you call a Special Meeting of the Common Council, pursuant to Section 3.9 of the Charter of the City of Buffalo, for the following purpose: To receive and take appropriate action on All items pertaining to 1. Local 282 Prof. Firefighters Assn. Contract We request that this Special Meeting be held on Friday, January 26, 2007 at 10:30 A.M. Dominic Bonifacio Jr. Michael J. LoCurto Michael Kearns Bonnie E. Russell Joseph Golombek Jr. Demone Smith Pursuant to Rule 2 of the Rules of Order of the Common Council of the City of Buffalo, each of the following named members of the Common Council, to wit: DOMINIC BONIFACIO BRIAN DAVIS RICHARD FONTANA JOSEPH GOLOMBEK JR. MICHAEL KEARNS MICHAEL LOCURTO BONNIE E. RUSSELL DEMONE A. SMITH hereby agrees that he /she received twenty -four (24) hours' notice of the time and purpose of the Special Meeting of the Common Council duly called to be held on January 26, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. STATE OF NEW YORK COUNTY OF ERIE) ss: CITY OF BUFFALO) On this 24th day of January 2007, before me, the subscribers, personally appeared All Councilmembers To me known to be the same persons described in and who executed the foregoing instrument, and they duly and severally acknowledged to me that they executed the same. FRANCZYK, President of the Common Council, has called a Special Meeting of the Common Council, to be held in the Council Chambers, City Hall, Buffalo, New York, on Friday, January 26, 2007 at 10:30 A.M. for the following purpose: To receive and take appropriate action on all items relating to 1) Local 282 Prof. Firefighters Assn. BONIFACIO NO. 2 DISCHARGE BUDGET COMMITTEE -LOCAL 282 PROFESSIONAL FIREFIGHTERS CONTRACT CCP #1- 1/23/07 WHEREAS: The above item is currently in the Budget Committee; and WHEREAS: It is no longer necessary for this item to be considered by that committee; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That this Common Council does hereby discharge the Budget Committee from further consideration of this item, and said item is now before the Council. Seconded by Mr. ADOPT DISCHARGE. NO. 3 RECESS On a motion by Mr. Bonifacio, seconded by Mrs. Russell, the Council moved to recess until 1:30 P.M. on Tuesday, January 30, 2007. ADOPTED. NO. 4 RECONVENE At 1:30 P.M., the Common Council reconvened with the following members present: Council Members Bonifacio, Davis, Fontana, Franczyk, Golombek, Kearns, LoCurto, Russell & Smith -9. Absent —None. CARRIED NO. 5 PROPOSED COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT WITH LOCAL #282 BUFFALO PROFESSIONAL FIREFIGHTERS ASSOCIATION (CCP #1 - 1/23/07) Mr. Davis made a motion to approve said item. Seconded by Mr. Smith Mr. Bonifacio moved: That the proposed collective bargaining agreement between the City of Buffalo and the Buffalo Professional Firefighters Association, Inc. Local #282, as contained in Item No. 1, C.C.P., January 23, 2007, be and hereby is approved. PASSED. AYES- BONIFACIO, DAVIS, FONTANA, GOLOMBEK, LOCURTO, RUSSELL, SMITH -7. NOES- FRANCZYK, KEARNS -2. NO. 6 ADJOURNMENT On a motion by Mr. Bonifacio, seconded by Mrs. Russell, the Council adjourned at 2:57 a.m. RECEIVED AND FILED. GERALD A. CHWALINSKI CITY CLERK
